These terms apply to ShoeboxTax ("the app"), published by Shannon's Online Bookkeeping. The app is licensed to you under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, together with these terms. By using the app you agree to both.
A record-keeping tool, not advice
ShoeboxTax helps you organize receipts and tax documents. It isn't tax, legal or financial advice, it doesn't prepare or file tax returns, and it doesn't guarantee that any expense is deductible. Category suggestions, rule lookups, totals and amounts read from photos are estimates. Your tax professional decides what to claim.
Your responsibility
Check amounts and dates against your original receipts and forms, and keep originals or copies as required for your records. You're responsible for the recipient you choose when sending a package, and for sharing the PDF password safely. Reminders are a convenience and may not arrive if notifications are turned off.
ShoeboxTax Pro subscription
- Pro is an auto-renewing subscription: $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year (US prices; local prices may vary).
- Eligible new subscribers get a 14-day free trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, payment is charged to your Apple Account.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
iCloud backup
iCloud backup for Pro depends on your Apple Account and available iCloud storage, and is provided by Apple. Keep your own export if a record is important to you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is", and we aren't liable for tax outcomes, penalties, lost data or decisions you make based on information in the app.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we'll update the date above and note material changes in the app.
